A Commitment to the Health of Underserved Populations

I have dedicated my career to improving healthcare access, quality, and outcomes for underserved communities. I hold a Master of Public Health degree, which provides a strong foundation for navigating complex healthcare systems and policy environments. After serving at local, state, and federal public health agencies, I found my place alongside the committed staff and volunteers of Free and Charitable Clinics and Charitable Pharmacies.

I am inspired not only by the organizations themselves, but also by the national and state associations and community partners working to strengthen the healthcare safety net.

Safety-net executives come to me facing challenges that have become increasingly common: Growing demand for services without corresponding capacity; shifts in philanthropy and nonprofit trust; uncertainty about how to frame work focused on serving those left behind; pressure to make decisions with incomplete information; and the difficulty of prioritizing long-term strategy when short-term realities feel unstable. Activating boards, stabilizing operations, and planning for sustainability all compete for limited time and energy.

What I see most often is this: Charitable healthcare leaders rarely have protected time to step back, think strategically, and strengthen their internal systems.

Creating Protected Space for Leadership

Through structured, ongoing conversations, I collaborate with executive leaders to clarify priorities, strengthen processes, enhance partnerships, and navigate complexity with confidence. Clients often describe our work together as “like therapy” and “refreshing,” providing a structured space to focus on long-term direction rather than only immediate demands.

Because I know how Free and Charitable Clinics and Pharmacies operate, we can begin immediately. My clients do not have to explain the basics of the safety net, the populations they serve, or the social and health challenges their communities face. We move directly into meaningful work.

I am called to serve organizations reaching people with the greatest need: Individuals choosing between prescriptions and groceries, patients who have delayed care for years, and those who have lost coverage in administrative transitions. My experience in federal and state public health provides a broad perspective and practical insight that help safety-net organizations access new resources, reach more patients, and strengthen their operations, giving their leaders clarity and renewed confidence in the path ahead.
